FALCON HOUR (Homeroom)

Falcon Hour is a Pass/Fail class for students to engage in several education-related activities. The requirements for passing this class include are participation in activities, including student-led conferences. Here are just a few of the activities done during this weekly class:

DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) -- during this 30 minute time period, students read a book or magazine of their own choice.
Assemblies -- these vary from character development and making choices to music and arts.
Reality Town -- this is a half-day activity in which students make important choices that are similar to the ones they will making in the future, e.g. buying a car, obtaining insurance, donating to a charity, etc.
Student led conferences -- this is a time set aside for students to meet with their parent/guardian in a relaxed setting to review accomplishments in school.
