February 8-12, test your knowledge of Greek mythology and Rick Riordan's fantastic book series to win great prizes from the upcoming film version of The Lightning Thief! Join us for a comparison of a book and the "Hollywood" version of it every Monday during lunch. Check out a lunch pass from us anytime up until lunch begins.

Answer one of our trivia questions to qualify to come to our Dewey Decimal Donut party at the end of the mont!

Audiobooks

We offer audio books on iPod shuffles for checkout! Get a permission slip from the librarians--you need authorization from your parents to check one out.

Catalog

Our Media Center catalog (through Alexandria) is available online--please click here to access it. Unfortunately our Media Center catalog is not currently accessible from your home computer due to some firewall issues--we are hoping this will be fixed in the near future.

Pioneer Library

The Pioneer online library is a fantastic collection of online encyclopedias, magazines, and audio visual resources that you can access right from home. Just go to http://pioneer.uen.org/k12/index.jsp and then enter the username pioneer and the password time.

World Book Online

We just got access to an amazing resource--a more in-depth version of the World Book Encyclopedia! Go to http://worldbookonline.com and then enter the username alpinedistrict and the password student.

Curriculum

The instruction that takes place in the Media Center focuses on fulfilling the state curriculum for library media programs while complementing the curriculum of Canyon View Junior High School. State curriculum standards can be found at http://www.uen.org/core/librarymedia/index.shtml
